How to read the Meesho payment file (XLSX)

By Om Infinity Solutions · · 6 min read

The Meesho payment report is detailed, and the panel gives you little help reading it. This is how it is laid out and how to check it.

What you download

From the payments section of the Meesho supplier panel you can download a payment report. It arrives as a zip holding one Excel file. You can upload the zip as it is.

The Order Payments sheet

This is the main sheet: one row per settlement line. An order can have more than one line, for example the original payment and a later adjustment when it is returned. The key that connects a line to an order is the Sub Order No, which looks like a long number, an underscore and a digit.

The columns come in groups. Order details come first (dates, SKU, product, quantity). Payment details follow, including the payment date and the Final Settlement Amount. Then come revenue details (sale amount and return amount), deductions (commission and fees, shipping, return shipping), other charges, tax at source (TCS and TDS), and finally recovery, claims and compensation.

Checking a line yourself

The Final Settlement Amount should equal the sum of the parts: sale and return amounts, plus the fees and charges (which are negative), plus tax at source, plus compensation, claims and recoveries. If it does not, either you have missed a column or Meesho's total includes something its columns do not show. Omjaniva does this check on every line and lists the ones that do not add up.

The Ads Cost sheet

When you run ads, the report has a separate sheet of ad spend by day and campaign, with the date the money was deducted. It is not part of any order's settlement, so look at it on its own.

Overlapping files

If you download reports for overlapping dates, the same line can appear in both. Add them together and you count it twice. Omjaniva recognises a line it has already stored and skips it.
