The Meesho GST report: sales, returns and what is in it

By Om Infinity Solutions · · 4 min read

The GST report in the Meesho panel is a zip of two spreadsheets. Here is what each holds and how to use them. For filing, always confirm with your accountant.

Two files in one zip

The zip holds a sales file and a sales return file. Each has one row per sub order with the order date, HSN code, quantity, GST rate, taxable value, tax amount, invoice value and taxable shipping. The return file also has the date the order was cancelled or returned.

Totalling it

GST on your sales for a period is the sum of the tax amount in the sales file. GST on returns is the sum in the return file, and it reduces what you account for. The difference is the net GST for the period, and the taxable values work the same way.

If you sell at more than one GST rate, total each rate separately.

Match it to your orders

The Sub Order No ties each row to the same order in your orders and payment files, so you can see the tax on any one order.

What Omjaniva does with it

Upload the zip as it is. Omjaniva reads both files, ignores the name, GSTIN and customer state columns (it does not store them), and shows GST on sales, GST on returns and the net, by rate, on the Payments screen. It is a summary to help you; it is not a tax return.

Let Omjaniva do this for every order

Upload your Meesho reports and see profit, returns, payments and GST in one place.
